Blackface caricature wooden rattle with faces on either side (one happy, one sad), red nose that has been pushed either side to create the faces, metal staples attached to create ears that have hooped earrings dangling down which create noise when the toy is moved. Attached to wooden rod which has a divot at the bottom showing it was previously inserted into something else (unknown).
